Save the Farm — Update!

Two years ago this month, the Save the Farm team (FW Parks Dept, We Love Our City, Todd Beamer DECA, Boy Scouts, Starbucks, and community friends, leaders & family) began working to restore the Hylebos Blueberry Farm. Teams weeded, mowed, fertilized, spread compost& removed blackberries. Hundreds of volunteer hours have paid off! We are delighted to be enjoying a huge crop of berries this year. It’s rewarding to watch our community come and pick berries, enjoy the park and explore the new connector trail (extension of the Hylebos Trail).

Special thanks to Jim & Donna Cox (Light of Christ Community Garden founders and master gardeners) for their guidance and donations of time, fertilizer, and masons bees, and for hosting the pruning event.
