WLOC Serve Day 2022

When 200 Volunteers from We Love Our City (8 local churches, friends & family) and Stand Up FW show up for the annual WLOC Serve Day, great things happens.

Teams met bright and early at the PAEC on Saturday. The event began with a prayer for our city and then teams divided up to help at 2 Fusion homes, Sacajawea Park, Hylebols Blueberry Farm, Light of Christ Community Garden, FWSC Community Garden, litter pick-up, and yard work at a senior citizens home.

161 pounds of food was donated for the FWSC Food Bank. 102 pairs of socks were donated for the FW Day Center. $100 of gift cards were purchased for World Relief.

Teams worked hard until noon and then came to the FW Farmers Market for lunch and shopping, while the kids enjoyed fun activities provided by the Family Life Community Church team.

Huge amounts of work were accomplished. There were a few sore muscles but the joy of helping others made it all worth it! This team truly put love into action!

Thank you Brooklake, Christ’s Church, Legacy, Family Life, The Table, Journey, Steel Lake Presbyterian Church, Ministry of Reconciliation Church, and SUFW!

Summer Blood Drive

Virtual Blood Drive July 2-23

Make an appointment online at https://schedule.bloodworksnw.org between July 2nd and 23rd at any Donor Center or Pop-Up.

On the day of your donation let the registrar know that you are donating on behalf of “We Love Our City” by providing this donor code: WLOC.

This is how we track your donation.

We need 1,000 people to step up every day to keep our community’s blood supply at safe and reliable levels. Summer activities like travel, visiting guests, and fun in the sun sometimes prevent would-be donors from donating blood, and our inventory struggles throughout the season. But our community’s need for blood is constant, no matter the weather. Make a summertime blood donation appointment today and help make summer 2022 the best summer ever, for everyone.

COVID-19 Notice: Appointments and masks required. There is no deferral from donating if you receive the COVID vaccine. See our COVID-19 safety measures for more information.
