Night to Shine

Night to Shine is an unforgettable prom night experience, centered on God’s love, for people with cognitive or physical special needs. We look forward to seeing all our kings and queens back for Night to Shine 2025!

We couldn’t put on this special event without each and every one of you volunteering to make it happen!

Volunteers will be expected to be at the event from 4-10 PM. 

Volunteer Opportunities:

  • Buddies: Assist our honored guests in navigating the event and ensuring they have an unforgettable time.
  • Event Volunteers: Help with essential tasks like food preparation, guest check in, serving in the get-ready room, photography and so much more!

Additionally, we have volunteer opportunities before and after the main event:

  • Thursday Set-Up: Anytime between 12:00 PM – 8:00 PM
  • Friday Set-Up: 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM
  • Red Carpet Cheer Squad: 5:30 PM – 7:30 PM (cheer on guests as they arrive)
  • Friday Clean-Up Crew: 9:00 PM – 10:30 PM

Tricks n’ Treats

Get ready for a spooktacular Halloween experience at the Federal Way Community Center’s “Tricks n’ Treats” event! Join us on October 26 for an evening filled with ghoulish delights, fun games, sweet treats, and unforgettable memories. Doors open at 3:00 PM and the festivities continue until 5:30 PM. Admission is $6 per child, with free entry for adults. Be sure to register in advance, as registration on the day of the event is $10.

Fill the Canoe!

Red Canoe Credit Union Back-to-School Backpack Drive

Over 76% of Federal Way students are classified as low income. That’s nearly 17,000 Federal Way students living close to or at the poverty level and 1,796 are homeless.

You can help by donating new backpacks and school supplies at a drop-off location or by donating online! Red Canoe Credit Union will match* all donations received during Fill the Canoe.

*Monetary donations made to Fill the Canoe will be matched dollar-for-dollar by Red Canoe Credit Union, minus the processing fee, up to $5,000. Supply donations will be matched, pound-for-pound, up to 5,000 pounds.

Donations to Fill the Canoe are not tax deductible.

Federal Way Community Festival

Volunteers needed in the Kids’ Area at the Federal Way Community Festival, which consists of sidewalk chalk art, bubbles, and an inflatable axe-throwing game, on top of games offered by We Love Our City.
