Volunteers beautify Celebration Park

So much was accomplished at the 13th annual Parks Appreciation Day, thanks to the 365 volunteers that came and helped beautify Celebration Park in preparation for this year’s Summer Special Olympics. WLOC was excited to partner with our City again this year!

Hundreds of volunteers spent Saturday morning sprucing up Federal Way’s Celebration Park as a part of the 13th annual Parks Appreciation Day.

Tasks including painting, spreading beauty bark, planting flowers, trimming and other jobs to help clean up the park.

Last year, teams of volunteers worked at Alderbrook, Saghalie, Steel Lake and Celebration parks. This year all efforts focused on Celebration Park in preparation of the Special Olympics and other big sports tournaments scheduled for the summer.
