Serve Day 2021

Thank you to all who organized, donated, and participated!

We Love Our City, ministry of Family Life Community Church, participated in a nationwide SERVE DAY! 100+ volunteers divided into teams & picked up litter (30+ bags) mowed at the Hylebos Blueberry Farm, hosted a kids event at Town Square Park (with free ice cream) and The Lodge Apartments. Cards were written and treats/drinks delivered to the Federal Way Police Dept, South King Fire & Rescue, and Avalon Care Center. Volunteers also hosted a kid’s booth at the FW Farmers Market. Another large team went to the Light of Christ Community Garden where they weeded, picked up trash at the neighboring Park & Ride and assisted with the annual garage sale. Windows were washed at FUSION. After ALL that, teams met at the FW Farmers Market for food, cold drinks, and shopping! Books (for the community libraries), socks for the FW Day Center, and food for the FWSC Food bank were collected and will be distributed this week.

In addition, We Love Our City is partnering with Bloodworks for a blood drive through July 24. Call 1-800-398-7888 and don’t forget to give them our code #0235.
